Tired Hands Brewing Company
Philly proper may get most of the area’s positive craft beer press, but brew lovers would be remiss to not make the quick trip down the Main Line to Ardmore’s Tired Hands Brewing Company.
This Belgo-French cafe-brewery has won some of the world’s most prestigious awards, including second place in ratebeer.com’s ranking of the best new breweries on earth.
What makes Tired Hands special? Flavorful yet simple beers with inventive names like “Perfectly Preserved Brain” and “Beautiful Crystalline Structure” are brewed in one room and served in the next, which aligns with the brewery’s focus on local ingredients and materials.
Those looking to munch on something while they imbibe can enjoy house-made bread fermented with ale yeast, house-brined and pickled snacks and locally sourced cheeses, charcuterie and produce. Guests enjoy it all throughout Tired Hands’ two floors.
The popular brewery has expanded to a second location just three blocks from its current locale and also operates a seasonal biergarten in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, where city dwellers and visitors alike can find a rotating selection of 18 Tired Hands beers on tap and in cans.
The Visit Philly Overnight Package — booked more than 190,000 times since 2001 — comes with free hotel parking (worth up to $100 in Center City Philadelphia), overnight hotel accommodations and choose-your-own-adventure perks.
