Overview

Since the days of William Penn, Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties neighborhood has been prized for its history, culture and industrial development.

Today, The Piazza — affectionately designed and named after Rome’s famous piazzas — gives locals and visitors to the neighborhood a new place to unwind outside.

Tucked between four interconnected buildings, The Piazza’s vibrant and beautifully landscaped open-air plaza offers restaurants, markets, boutiques, kid-friendly play spaces and a dog park, as well as plenty of room to hang out.

The Experience

Throughout the lush courtyards and alfresco seating at The Piazza, several attractions offer fun for all — and the surrounding restaurants and bars offer plenty of spots to grab a drink (or two) and enjoy a leisurely meal.

Outdoor playgrounds offer play and exercise equipment for both the young and the young at heart, and furry friends can join in on the fun at The Piazza Dog Park (open to the public and featuring special K9 grass).

On-site eateries include El Camino Real, a lively Mexican cantina; Japanese hot spot Hikari Sushi; and Urban Village Brewing Company, a casual brewpub for lovers of craft beer and brick oven pizza.

Artisans and shops surrounding The Piazza include Ray’s Reusables, an eco-friendly general store offering sustainable home and hygiene products; Stump, a family-owned shop providing a variety of plants, high-quality gardening products and plant care education; and the GIANT Heirloom Market, offering local produce and an underground craft beer and wine experience.
