New Year’s Eve Dinners at Philadelphia Restaurants for 2019/2020

Four-plus courses are on the menu at this small South Kensington spot, where the $93 prix-fixe meal also includes special bite-sized delights throughout the evening and a complimentary sparkling cider toast at midnight. Seatings are available between 5 and 10 p.m., and $3 from each guest check goes toward healthcare costs of Cadence staff.

A 48-ounce beef porterhouse steak is the special of the night at this Northern Liberties live music hub. Guests who make reservations in advance can request one of these limited cuts, which serves four people at $220. The juicy offering comes with marrow bones, truffle mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, dressed arugula and sauce au poivre — all topped with fresh-shaved winter truffles.

New Year’s Eve dinner for two at the Rivers Casino Philadelphia restaurant features a three-course dinner for two with a surf-and-turf focus and two decadent dessert options, priced at $175 per couple.

Get a front-row seat for the waterfront fireworks aboard the Moshulu, which offers a four-course prix-fixe feast with a pianist and jazz trio, plus a deck party with a DJ. Tickets go for $150 per person from 3:30-10:00 p.m. Kids ages 2-14 can partake in a three-course kids’ menu for $35.

Hop aboard a fireworks cruise on the Spirit of Philadelphia with a dinner buffet that includes options like prime rib, honey-sesame chicken, baked ziti and caramel apple bread pudding. An early excursion at 4 p.m. features a DJ (from $114.90 per person; all ages welcome), while the later cruise includes an open bar, a champagne toast, dancing and a DJ (ages 21 and up; from $189.90 per person).

Two prix-fixe tasting menus ($65 or $90 per person) at Jose Garces’ legendary Spanish eatery set the year off right with dishes like croquetas de jamón, Ibérico pork tomahawk chop and Spanish cheesecake.

Cuba Libre creates a “night in Havana” for its New Year’s Eve celebration, featuring a five-course, prix-fixe dinner for $110 per person. Dancing unfolds all night long, as well as a champagne toast once the clock strikes midnight. Prefer to dine early? The regular, a-la-carte menu is available from 3-8 p.m.

Two prix-fixe menus are on offer at Fork this year, one for omnivores and one for vegetarians. The $120 omnivore dinner includes dishes like English sole, duck confit and foie gras, and Maine lobster. Vegetables showcased in the $90 vegetarian menu include celery root, Blue Hubbard squash and cauliflower. There’s an optional wine pairing for $55.

A $100 prix-fixe dinner with a $50 optional French wine pairing is on offer at chef Christopher Kearse’s new Old City spot. Menu highlights include Ora king salmon crudo with rose crème, winter radish and grapefruit, broiled monkfish with cauliflower, lemon, Kaluga caviar and smoked beurre blanc, and dry-aged prime New York Strip au poivre with black truffle, cheddar and spinach soubise.

It’s a “Land and Sea Fest” to close out the decade at High Street on Market. The family-style, four-course feast has two options for $65 per person. The Land Feast highlights Happy Valley Meats, and the Sea Feast showcases New Jersey fish purveyors Anthony and Local 130 Seafood. Large groups may consider share both feasts, and there’s an optional beverage pairing.

The fun begins at 4 p.m. at this Old City wine bar, which has a view of the two fireworks shows at 6 p.m. and midnight. The restaurant offers three seatings this year: a three-course menu at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. for $65 ($30 for kids 12 and younger) and a four-course menu with a champagne toast starting at 9 p.m. for $95.

New executive chef Jonathan Dearden offers a three-course New Year’s Eve dinner for $75 at this Old City tavern.  Entrées include lobster tagliatelle with spinach, bottarga and lobster bisque, and fairytale pumpkin ravioli with rainbow chard, brown butter emulsion and Parmesan sage frico.

Chef Nicholas Elmi’s French brasserie offers open seating for its regular menu, including an extensive raw bar, plus celebratory additions like a champagne toast at midnight.

Shishito peppers and miso soup kick off the seven-course shared meal at Tuna Bar. With several options for each course, parties of all sizes can find just the right amount of food for $95. Highlights include the tuna tartare, creamy rock shrimp, Wentz roll and a sushi and sashimi omakase. Course seven is a dessert sampler with a champagne toast.

From 5-11 p.m., chef Eli Collins offers an elegant four-course prix-fixe dinner featuring dishes like choucroute and whole fish for $85. And a.kitchen’s sommelier selected champagne pairings for each course.

This New Year’s Eve, Chris’ Jazz Cafe transports patrons back to the Roaring ’20s with live jazz music from Chelsea Reed & The Fair Weather Nine and Prohibition-era cocktails. Admission to the show costs $30 per person, and food and drinks are available a la carte.

Seatings start at 5 p.m. for the four-course $95 special New Year’s Eve menu at Davio’s, where highlights include filet mignon tartare, shucked fresh oysters, Main lobster tail and cheesecake. Guests can also request the regular menu.

Go Greek at Estia with four courses of traditional fare like charcoal-grilled octopus, zucchini chips and lamb chops. In addition to a stellar meal, guests can enjoy complimentary champagne, party favors, a DJ and dancing for $125 per person. Early eaters can opt to dine a la carte until 7 p.m.

If your plan is to really splash out this New Year’s Eve, consider the Gala dinner at Jean-Georges Philadelphia atop the Comcast Technology Center. The Four Seasons Philadelphia Hotel restaurant offers a $398 per-person, six-course dinner, plus dancing and a champagne toast at midnight. Highlights include Maine lobster and Wagyu beef tenderloin. The regular menu is available until 5:30 p.m.

Luxuriate at Lacroix at The Rittenhouse on New Year’s Eve, where the kitchen dishes out several mouthwatering courses (think Meyer lemon gnocchi, venison and foie gras, and chocolate yuzu mousse) for $135 per person.

The New Year’s Eve menu sat this Center City seafood-and-steak house features a $58 broiled sea bass over lobster risotto. For one night only, guests can sip on a glass of Dom Perignon for $50.

Parties of all sizes can book a table at Oyster House to ring in 2020. Seafood lovers can start with the buck-a-shuck happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. and enjoy an a-la-carte menu at the raw bar, or reserve a table for the $70 four-course prix-fixe menu. Special orders of six oysters topped with caviar are available for $24.

Take in the glamour of R2L’s skyline dining with two different three-course seating options. Between 4:30 and 8 p.m., diners can savor a leisurely two-hour meal for $75 per person. Later, from 8:30-10 p.m., groups can enjoy delicious eats along with champagne and party favors for $125 per guest.

The New Year’s Eve surf-and-turf special at this Rittenhouse spot features a 10-ounce Angus ribeye with a half-grilled Maine lobster, crushed fingerling potatoes, charred lime, roasted garlic, and chimichurri sauce, plus a side of cornbread. The $35 meal comes with a glass of Prosecco for toasting.

At Jose Garces’s Rittenhouse tapas restaurant, the special $70 New Year’s Eve menu is three courses and features Ibérico ham, jumbo lump crab, scallops and New York strip steak.

Celebrate the new year at this chic steakhouse with a deluxe a-la-carte menu from 5-10 p.m. (the bar is open until midnight). The kitchen turns out elegant dishes like foie gras torchon, langoustine thermidor, pepper-crusted venison loin and yuzu torte with gold leaf champagne gelée.

The New Year’s Eve menu at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia restaurant shines a light on the modern spot’s a-la-carte menu. Diners can also treat themselves to some luxury menu additions and enjoy a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

Chef José Garces’s stylish Kimmel Center spot serves a $60 pre-theater menu from 5-7 p.m., and a $125 tasting menu all night, with a complimentary glass of champagne. Menu highlights include yellowtail crudo, onion soup Lyonnaise and duck agnolotti.

The $85 prix-fixe menu (optional wine pairing for $65) at The Bellevue Hotel starts at 8:30 p.m. and features pan-seared U/8 scallops, roasted venison and champagne mousse. Holiday favors are provided, plus there’s a balloon drop at midnight. Children 12 and under are $40.

Ring in 2020 like the Parisians do at The Good King Tavern, where a “fancie, Frenchie” menu includes dishes like hamachi crudo with winter citrus, wild mushroom raviolo and beef Wellington. The St. Sylvestre prix-fixe menu costs $85 per person, with an option to add on caviar service. There’s a classic Manhattan cocktail service, too. The the prix-fixe menu is also available a la carte at the bar.

It’s a burlesque and blues new year at The Twisted Tail. For $75 per person, guests can enjoy a four-course, prix-fixe dinner with dishes like peekytoe crab toast, fluke carpaccio, and porcini-dusted NY strip. The evening also includes live music, burlesque performances and a champagne toast.

Celebrate the new year in style at Aqimero at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. In addition to reveling with a midnight balloon drop and top-tier entertainment, guests can enjoy champagne, food stations, hors d’oeuvres, a three-hour premium open bar and party favors. Prices start at $250 per person, with options to upgrade to VIP experiences for $475 and $700.

The three-course celebration at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel’s Bank & Bourbon welcomes 2020 with a champagne toast and dishes like crab bisque, filet mignon and crème brûlée cheesecake, all for $75 per person. An optional beverage pairing costs $35 per person.

One of Center City’s newest dining destinations offers two New Year’s Eve seatings for a four-course dinner. City Winery at the Fashion District Philadelphia hosts guests at 6 and 10 p.m. for the $100 meal, which includes a coursed wine pairing. Diners can enjoy an arugula/mesclun salad, an Asian beef dish, Mediterranean sea bass and raspberry baked Alaska. The 10 p.m. seating also includes a midnight champagne toast.

Visit this Italian BYOB early (from 5-6 p.m.) on New Year’s Eve to partake in a three-course dinner for $60. From 7-8 p.m., the menu includes a fourth course for $75, and from 9-10 p.m., it’s five courses for $85.

Time combines dinner and a party for New Year’s Eve revelers looking to extend the fun. The $75 tasting menu includes a complimentary champagne toast and live music. Tom’s Moon Love Room plays from 6-9 p.m. and Ernest Stuart & Friends entertain crowds from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Upstairs, DJ Mohammad & Luke invite post-dinner guests to dance the night away right into 2020.

Vintage invites folks to skip the loud parties and enjoy an intimate dinner on New Year’s Eve. The a la-carte dinner menu is available until 11 p.m. with a complimentary midnight champagne toast.

East Passyunk’s Bing Bing Dim Sum serves up a four-course New Year’s Eve dinner with delicious options like foie gras soup dumplings, peking duck tacos and Sichuan-style surf and turf. The family-style, prix-fixe menu costs $50 per person.

The French-inspired restaurant on East Passyunk says farewell to 2019 with a five-course pre-fixe menu for $95 per person, with optional wine pairings for an additional $35. The menu features butternut squash soup, hamachi crudo, rigatoni duck ragout, pork belly with spaetzle and a caramel chocolate tart.

Diners in Devon and Glen Mills can head to either Terrain Cafe location for a $65, four-course menu full of seasonal and local ingredients. At Glen Mills, the meal is BYOB and includes Main lobster bisque, a prime New York strip steak and hazelnut rocher. The Devon location serves red beet sashimi, Parisienne gnocchi and a poached Bartlett pear tart with an optional $30 wine pairing.
